At the core of this health-focused initiative is the opportunity for customers to undergo free health screenings covering key metrics like glucose, cholesterol, body mass index, and blood pressure. Complementing this, Walmart will offer affordable immunizations for various illnesses, including flu, COVID-19, HPV, mumps, measles, and more.

Adding a touch of excitement to the Wellness Day is a surprise visit from renowned actor, comedian, and wellness advocate Kevin Hart. Hart, inspired by his commitment to prioritizing wellness, created VitaHustle, a premium nutritional product lineup available nationwide at Walmart.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Hart said, “Walmart and I share a commitment to highlighting the profound importance of prioritizing wellness. It has had a transformative impact on my life, and teaming up with Walmart means we can build healthier, happier communities together.”

Taking place at 4,600 Walmart pharmacies, Wellness Day is not just about health screenings; it’s an opportunity for communities to come together. Some stores will offer additional features such as vision screenings, in-store giveaways, and demonstrations of wellness products.

Qualified pharmacy and Vision Center teams will administer the health resources during Wellness Day. From free health screenings covering glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index to vision screenings in select locations, Walmart ensures that customers have access to crucial health insights.

Immunizations, a key focus of the event, will be available at affordable prices. Walmart pharmacies will offer vaccines for flu, measles, mumps, pneumonia, tetanus, HPV, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox/shingles), whooping cough (TDAP), hepatitis A & B, and more. Notably, COVID-19 vaccines will be provided at no cost to patients.

Wellness Day goes beyond clinical aspects; it’s about fostering connections. Customers will have the opportunity to engage with pharmacists, discussing their health concerns and gaining valuable insights. Kevin Host, Walmart’s senior vice president of Pharmacy, emphasized the importance of building relationships during this health-focused event.

Ralph Clare, senior vice president, Health & Wellness, Consumables, highlighted the enjoyable browsing and sampling experience for customers during Wellness Day. As the first event of the year, Walmart aims to motivate people to kickstart a new wellness journey with additional savings through rollbacks across healthy foods, vitamins and supplements, and fitness gear.

Since 2014, Walmart pharmacies have played a vital role in community health by hosting Wellness Days and contributing over 5 million free health screenings for customers. With over 4,000 Walmart stores in medically underserved areas, the retailer often serves as the initial point of contact for healthcare in rural and underserved communities.

As Wellness Day unfolds, Walmart stands as a beacon of support for those eager to embrace a healthier lifestyle in the new year. Through health screenings, immunizations, and a community-focused approach, Walmart continues to prioritize the well-being of its customers, fostering a culture of health, fitness, and wellness.
