Shandong Taishan Stuns Kawasaki Frontale with Dramatic Last-Minute Victory in Asian Champions League

Shandong Taishan defeated Kawasaki Frontale with an unexpected come-from-behind victory to advance to the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League on Tuesday, winning 4-2 in Japan, including Jadson scoring an important last minute goal that sealed their 6-5 overall success on Tuesday evening.

Shandong Taishan vs Kawasaki

Shandong Taishan made an immediate impact upon entering the game, scoring two quick goals quickly to take command early. Cryzan from Brazil scored their opening goal just eight minutes in, followed by Gao Zhunyi scoring his goal in 15th minute.

Kawasaki Frontale responded well. Sota Miura scored for them in the 30th minute and Erison added another goal during second-half action; but Cryzan scored again to level up play and tie things at two each.

Shandong goalkeeper Wang Dalei made headlines late in the match for being sent off, only for that decision to be overruled by VAR technology. Jadson ultimately secured victory with an epic late goal from Jaden.

Shandong Taishan will surely celebrate their victory and look ahead to who their quarter-final opponent will be, while Kawasaki Frontale may feel disappointed not having made further inroads into this tournament; yet they demonstrated great spirit throughout.
